چکیده

Variant angina, defined as spontaneous angina pectoris associated with transient ST-segment elevation, is usually caused by episodic coronary spasm. At present, coronary artery spasm is a reversible coronary stenosis that limits coronary blood flow under resting conditions. Prinzmetal first described this type of angina pectoris as a distinct entity in 1959. Although several hypotheses have been suggested, the precise mechanism for coronary vasospastic disease remains unclear. Natural history of variant angina is heterogeneous. In

Effects of postischemic regional left ventricular diastolic wall motion abnormalities or delayed relaxation following coronary vasospasm on global diastolic function.

BACKGROUND Regional left ventricular (LV) diastolic wall motion abnormalities detected by color kinesis (CK), an echocardiographic technique, may be a more sensitive measure to postischemic damage following coronary spasm than parameters of global diastolic function. METHODS AND RESULTS Regional LV diastolic wall motion was evaluated by using CK in 18 patients with variant angina on the day f...

یافته‌های اختلال حرکت دیواره‌ای قلب در اکوکاردیوگرافی و ارزش لیدهای خلفی در تشخیص انفارکتوس میوکارد

Background: For the purpose of ascertaining myocardial infarction (MI) and ischemia, the sensitivity of the initial 12-lead ECG is inadequate. It is risky to diagnose posterior MI using only precordial reciprocal changes, since the other leads may be more optimally positioned for the identification of electrocardiographic changes. In this study, we evaluated the relationship between electrocard...

Prevalence and Prognostic Significance of Wall-Motion Abnormalities in Adults Without Clinically Recognized Cardiovascular Disease

Background—Left ventricular wall motion (WM) abnormalities have recognized prognostic significance in patients with coronary or other heart diseases; however, whether abnormal WM predicts adverse events in adults without overt cardiovascular disease has not been assessed. Our objective was to determine whether echocardiographic WM abnormalities predict subsequent cardiovascular events in a popu...

Measurement of Left Ventricular Myocardium Wall Instantaneous Motions with Echocardiographic Sequence Images

Background & Aims: One of the important aims of quantitative cardiac image processing is the clarification of myocardial motions in order to derive biomechanical behavior of the heart in the disease condition. In this study we presented a computerized analysis method for detecting the instantaneous myocardial changes by using 2D echocardiography images. Methods: The analysis was performed on th...
